Joining the forum
All members are encouraged to join the Forum on this website. Unfortunately some applications occasionally have to be rejected or left on hold where we can't identify the applicant (in order to prevent spamming). Such problems can easily be avoided by emailing secretary@civilservicecanoeclub.org.uk to tip him off that you have an application to join the forum awaiting approval.
Weekly meetings - Summer Thames sessions
Tuesday evening sessions on the Thames resume next Summer.
Weekly meetings - winter swimming pool sessions
Pool sessions at the Porchester Centre will resume on 10th January. Sessions start promptly at 9pm so please arrive slightly earlier to allow enough time to get changed before 9 pm.
The Porchester Centre and surrounding streets are in Zone B3 which appears to be unaffected by the proposal to extend "hours of control" from 6.30pm to midnight.
Membership fees.
Membership is due for renewal on 1st January. Membership fees are £30 for CSSC members and £45 for Associate members.
Please send your completed form, together with a cheque for the appropriate amount, to the Secretary at the address on the form (which can be found in the Reference section).
River Thames recreational users website
Click the link above for the Port of London Authority's recreational users website. (The PLA are in charge of the Thames between Teddington and the sea). Among other things there is an interesting video on rowing (includes paddling) through Central London.
Club Library
The club has a small library of paddling books available for members to borrow. Most of the books are new, including a number of Franco Fererro's excellent Pesda Press titles, Olli Grau's "White Water kayaking" and Gordon Brown's "Sea Kayaking" to name just a few. The book list can be found on the members' forum in the "General Discussion and Social Stuff" section. Members are welcome to suggest additional books and DVDs for the library. Loans or donations of paddling books which you no longer need are also very welcome.
Calendar was last updated 6 October 2011.
