Information on canoeing in the UK
If for one reason or another, the Civil Service Canoe Club cannot offer what you are looking for, you may well find that there are other activities in your area! The British Canoe Union is the governing body for canoeing in the UK. There are also National Associations covering Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. Any of these bodies should be able to provide details of local clubs, centres and so on, as well as information on access to canoeing waters, within their area. In England, the "Regional" pages on the BCU web site contain extensive lists of local clubs - see for example their London/SE Clubs list. You can contact these organisations as follows:
